As this 1982 release`s title implies, Ismael covers and pays tribute to classic Boleros from the 1950s on this album. Of course, Ismael was never Cheo Feliciano, Santos Colon, Paquito Guzman, Johnny Albino or Tito Rodriguez (all truly legendary Bolero singers and masters of the genre) but his interpretations of these classic ballads are both enjoyable and commendable. While I do like and recommend this CD, please know that many of these songs` lyrics deal with lost love, heartbreak and love affairs or romances gone wrong so if you`re just getting out of a relationship in which you were wronged you may find yourself crying as you listen to this album
