FP Barrio Nuevo - Cantaré Por Tí.
Dit is het 2e album dat is ontstaan uit een samenwerking tussen trompettist Francisco Peña en de band “ Barrio Nuevo”. Het is een samenkomst van traditionele stijlen zoals: Currulao, Porro en Aguabajo; folklore die afkomstig is uit Colombia. De naam Barrio Nuevo is de verwijzing naar Nederland, “de nieuwe buurt.”waar je een nieuwe taal moet leren, nieuwe “sociale” regels hebt, nieuwe ervaringen opdoet, nieuwe vrienden maakt, maar waarvan ook je eigen muziek aanpassen een onderdeel is. Franciso Peña is een artiest die precies weet wat hij wil en hoe hij het wil, daarom componeert, produceert en arrangeeert hij zijn muziek helemaal zelf. Dit is een ode aan de traditionele muziek, maar dan in een nieuwe jas. Francisco zelf noemt het “Folklor Urbano”. De laatste 5 nummers zijn een eerbetoon aan zijn eigen vader Pacho Peña met zijn groep Chirimia.

Francisco Pena is a trumpet player, composer, arranger, producer and leader who lives in Holland and is remembered for his experience in salsa music with orchestra "La Fuga"  in Cali in 1992. After many years, we rediscovered him as independent producer at FP Music Productions in Holland
