Pedro Jesus - Entre La Noche y El Dia, 2007 CD release
Produced by salsa veteran Julio "Gunda" Merced in Puerto Rico, Entre La Noche y El Dia is singer Pedro Jesus` fifth offering, and he continues to demonstrate the brilliant power of the medium. This is dance inducing salsa at its infectious best. Songs like "No Puedo Olvidarla" and "Hoy Me He Vuelto A Enamorar," tumbao-packed grenades, will get them dancing. But once there, it`s tracks like the insanely potent "No Me Interesas" that will keep them there. This track, written by Mr. Jesus, is the jewel in the crown. And the finale, "La De Los Ojitos Negros," features guest La Hill who provides a pseudo urban feel framed by a boogaloo jam. It`s an adventurous stretch that works perfectly here.
Features Luis Marin in piano, conguero William "Cachiro" Thompson, trumpeter Angie Machado and others. Three trumpets, three trombones. And a coro section that filled out by Papo Sanchez, Primi Cruz, Darvel Garcia, and Jose "Chegui" Ramos. DJ Alert. Very Highly Recommended. (review by Descarga)
