This new salsa project, produced by Bobby Valentin, is the Bronco label`s first new release (not counting Valentin`s own projects) since José Lugo`s 2002 Piano Con Mata, so it comes with a certain amount of built-in anticipation and expectations. Rivera, an excellent singer who has backed Valentin`s own band and also the acclaimed Orquesta K`Viar, has shown extra smarts in assembling his Espiritu De Barrio band. He`s got Bobby Valentin, Efrain Hernandez and Pín Jimenez on on bass, pianists Richard Trinidad and Manolo Navarro, timbaleros Edwin Clemente and Freddie Camacho, congueros Kachiro Thompson and Georgie Padilla and a first call lineup of coroistas: Luisito Carrion, Wichy Camacho, Esteban Cintrón and Hector Giovanni.
